Claims Canada is Canada’s national claims and loss adjusting magazine and the official publication of the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association (CIAA). The publication is an excellent informational resource for individuals working with the insurance and adjustment industries.
As private investigators, Lanki Investigations are regularly called upon to expose fraudulent claims for large public and private insurance companies and their partners both locally and abroad. As such, we have found Claims Canada Magazine to be a wonderful publication to keep us abreast of ongoing developments within the insurance industry.
The magazine’s April issue contained a particularly relevant cover feature to our operations, and discussed a recent dialogue occurring between the Canadian Association of Private Investigators (CAPI) and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC). The article discusses a submission made by CAPI with regards to the OPC’s Guidelines on Covert Surveillance in the Private Sector; as the guidelines represent a serious encumbrance to the investigation of insurance fraud- a crime which costs the property and causality insurance industry an estimated $1.3 billion annually.
